How Sosial Sport handles your information – in plain language.
Who is responsible
Sosial Sport is the data controller for Sosial Sport. Contact: info@sosialsport.fo, +298 58 32 86.
What we store and why
- Your account: name, email and password (encrypted), so you can log in, post games and sign up. Legal basis: our agreement with you.
- What you post: games, runs, clubs and descriptions you write are public on the site. Your name is shown on posts you create or join.
- Sign-ups ("I'm in"): the organiser can see who has signed up and gets an email with your name.
- Alerts: the sports and towns you choose, so we can email you about new posts. You can turn them off at any time.
- Payments: when you pay to feature a post or buy an ad, WooCommerce stores your name, email, phone, company (optional) and the order. Card details are handled by Revolut and never reach us. We keep orders as long as bookkeeping law requires.
- Emails: we only send emails connected to what you do on the site (sign-ups, receipts, alerts you asked for, passwords).
Cookies
Necessary (always on): login (wordpress_*), your language (sr_lang), short messages after an action (sr_flash), the payment session (woocommerce_*, wp_woocommerce_session_*) and your cookie choice (sr_consent).
Statistics (only if you accept): sr_seen – contains only today's date, so we can count how many different people visit per day and where visits come from. It contains no ID and is kept for 180 days.
Without consent we only count anonymous totals, such as how many times a page is shown, with no cookies and no personal data. We never store IP addresses in our statistics, and we use no advertising or tracking cookies.
Others who process data for us
- Hostinger – hosts the website and sends emails (EU).
- Revolut – processes payments.
- OpenStreetMap – shows the map; your browser fetches map images from their servers.
- unpkg.com – delivers the map software (Leaflet).
How long we keep data
Your account is kept until you delete it. Past games are kept as history. Statistics are only stored as daily totals. Orders are kept as long as bookkeeping law requires.
Your rights
You can see, download, correct and delete your data. Under "My account" you can download your data and delete your account. You can also contact us at info@sosialsport.fo, +298 58 32 86. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Danish/Faroese data protection authority (Dátueftirlitið).
